Between tradition and modernity
The family business Max Zeller Söhne was founded in 1864. During this time an originally small country pharmacy developed into a traditional and modern manufacturer of herbal medicines.
Max Zeller invented the Zeller balm from an old monastery recipe in his pharmacy in Romanshorn in 1864. Zeller balm is still used to treat stomach and intestinal discomfort such as a feeling of fullness or indigestion. Max Zeller thus laid the basis for today’s Max Zeller Söhne Ltd, which over time has developed into the leading Swiss company in the development and manufacture of herbal medicines.
Today, the Zeller company is one of the few companies that controls the entire production chain from seed to the finished product.
Step by step to the highest quality
The starting material for a herbal medicinal product is not created in the laboratory, but grows as a plant. Choosing the right plant is very important. Zeller selects the suitable plant from hundreds of plants of the same type in a complex process. It is crucial that the content of the desired active ingredients is high and that there are hardly any or no undesirable substances. The plant is then grown naturally and without genetic engineering under controlled conditions by farmers in Europe and overseas.
State-of-the-art facilities and scientific documentation
Zeller has one of the world’s most modern plants for the production of herbal medicinal products with sufficient capacity for the future. Zeller is fully committed to demonstrating the effectiveness and tolerability of high-quality medicinal products not only through experience, but also through scientific studies.
